STEP BY STEP – How to Make Spiked Hot Chocolate
Now that you have everything you need, it’s time to get started!
Step 1: In a medium saucepan, whisk the milk, over medium-low heat until the mixture is hot, a simmer but not boiling. Be sure to whisk continuously to prevent it from burning.
Step 2: Once the mixture is hot, add the hot cocoa mix and chocolate chips and mix until the chocolate chips melt. Give it a good stir to combine all the flavors. Remove the milk from heat and stir in bourbon and coffee liqueur. Mix well or froth.

HOW TO SERVE | WHIPPED CREAM, MARSHMALLOWS, & CHOCOLATE SHAVINGS
I love seeing this as is with a dollop of fresh whipped cream on the top. You can also make a big batch of this to share with friends.
STORING AND REHEATING
It’s no surprise – this cozy, boozy treat is the perfect way to warm up and indulge on chilly nights. But what if you made a big batch and have some leftovers? No worries, we’ve got you covered with some tips on how to store and reheat your delicious creation!
First things first, make sure you have some airtight containers or Mason jars on hand. Pour any remaining spiked hot chocolate into these containers and seal them tightly. Then, pop them in the refrigerator. This yummy treat should be good to go for up to 3-4 days.
When you’re ready to enjoy another mug (or two), simply take out your stored spiked hot chocolate from the fridge and transfer it to a saucepan. Heat it gently over low-medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it reaches your desired temperature. Be careful not to bring it to a boil, as this could alter the taste and texture.
If you’re in a rush or only want a quick single serving, you can also reheat the spiked hot chocolate in the microwave. Just transfer a portion into a microwave-safe mug and heat it in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until it’s nice and warm.
Remember, the flavors might meld together even more after sitting in the fridge, so feel free to adjust the taste by adding more bourbon or coffee liqueur if needed.
And that’s it! Now you can enjoy your leftover spiked hot chocolate anytime, knowing it will taste just as heavenly as the first sip. Cheers to warm and wonderful moments!
OTHER HOT BOOZY RECIPES
We love a good hot toddy! Garnish with a cinnamon stick and you have a cozy fireside drink to sip on. You can’t go wrong with a nice mulled wine, with the right amount of spices, its the best way to enjoy a warm cup of wine.
