We made it. And by we made it I mean we – made it to the long weekend, we made it to warmer weather, and we made it to the weekend which marks the beginning of “white pants” season. Not like I follow those rules anyway. Does anyone follow the “no white pants after Labor Day or before Memorial Day” rule? I feel like with the right chunky knit or light scarf, white jeans totally work in early spring, but what do I know about fashion? I’m a FOOD gal!
Speaking of food, what goes better with food than a fun, bright and fizzy little cocktail? Um, nothing. Absolutely, positively, nothing is the correct answer.
It’s liberating sharing cocktail recipes on Miss Allie’s Kitch. I feel like I’m letting you glimpse at a part of my soul. My inner party girl that’s just DYING to have a conversation with you about YOUR favorite drinks, favorite places to travel, favorite places to grab a pair of white jeans (I hear Madewell is a hot spot).
Well, let’s pretend we’re making a cocktail together today. Chances are, we won’t have much time for crafting as we’re going to be focused on gabbing. I’ll grab a bottle of my new favorite (yes, it’s that amazing & versatile) Pomegranate Cocktail Mixer by Powell & Mahoney. If you’ve followed me for a bit, you know how much I love their cocktail mixers. I mean, simple & straightforward ingredients bottled for me to create delish boozy treats without breaking a sweat. Count me in.
We’re mixing the sweet pomegranate syrup in with floral elderberry liquor (another fave of mine!), squeezing in a bit of lemon for freshness and rounding it all out with a healthy splash of dry champagne.
Let’s get to it!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED (measurements below):
Powell and Mahoney Pomegranate or pomegranate juice of your choice
Elderflower liquor
Fresh lemon juice
Champagne – I like extra dry
Ice
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Measure pomegranate syrup, elderflower liquor, and lemon juice into the shaker and vigorously shake until combined.
Pour the pomegranate & elderflower mixture evenly between 2 glasses. Top each with champagne until full!
