Ingredients

Instructions

To assemble the packs:

  1. Lay the 4 pieces of foil out on a workspace. Evenly distribute the venison, potatoes, onion, pepper and zucchini between each piece.
  2. Add the vinegar, oil, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning and mash everything together with a fork to distribute the seasoning.
  3. Wrap the foil packs up tightly so no liquid seeps out.

Oven directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450F.
  2. Once heated, lay the foil packs directly on the oven grates and cook for 30-35 minutes or until potatoes are soft and meat is cooked through and no longer pink.

Grill directions:

  1. Preheat the grill to medium high, about 450-500F.
  2. Once heated, lay the foil packs directly on the grill grates and cook for 20-28 minutes or until potatoes are soft and meat is cooked through and no longer pink.

Campfire directions:

  1. If possible, start a fire under campsite grates.
  2. Start and stoke the fire until hot coals start to form.
  3. If you have grates to place the packs on, place them directly over hot coals, trying to avoid huge direct flames.
  4. If you don’t have grats, double wrap them with foil and place them directly over the outside edge of the coals.
  5. Be sure to shift them around frequently to avoid hot spots and cook for 20-28 minutes or until potatoes are soft and meat is cooked through and no longer pink.

Notes

Tip – prep veggies and add the seasonings to the venison before you go if you take this camping! So all you have to do is assemble the packs and cook!
