You know those moments that just TOTALLY fill you up from bottom to top? The experiences that make your heart overflow with joy, the conversations that make you want to dance and the connections that make you literally want to leap out of your seat when you relive them over and over in your mind? I had a day filled with these moments a few weeks ago.

I’ll fill you in – I spoke at a career day. ME! The chick who swore to her mother she wasn’t taking the SAT and who failed her first college math course. Yes, you heard me correctly, friends. I had the absolute pleasure to speak at 6th grade career day at the VERY elementary school that I attended 14 years ago as a small business owner and entrepreneur following my dreams. WOOAHH. Talk about coming full circle, eh?

It was an absolute honor to converse with these wildly intelligent and engaging students; we spent the day chatting writing, photography, HTML coding (which they are totally better than me at), business ownership, furthering your education, and I totally bored them with my “why school actually matters (for real)” speech. If any of you students are reading this, thank you for being SUCH a lovely audience.

Alas, our day was not just filled with my ramblings of the blogger realm, we actually all put our heads together and they helped me come up with today’s recipe. At the end of each of my presentations, the groups of students all voted between 4 desserts: Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies, Strawberry Banana Bread, Chocolate Avocado Pudding, and Orange Creamsicle Milkshakes. Much to my surprise, this Orange Creamsicle Milkshake blew the other options out of the water and as promised, I’m sharing the recipe here today!

A huge thank you to the students for their diligent voting! I hope you all enjoy!!

Ahhh I love this! I’ve spoken at my high school a few times (related to my full-time job) and it’s such an amazing experience. I remember sitting in those very seats and now I get the chance to share what I’ve learned after graduating with them. I’m sure the 6th graders absolutely loved having you there! And this milkshake looks SO GOOD. Orange Julius was one of my favorite treats growing up.
