I’m not a big gadget person, but using the air fryer gives you a super crispy but juicy bite of salmon with very little work in a super short amount of time. You can prep the salsa and jalapeño yogurt sauce beforehand to make things really easy on yourself.

How much salmon do you need for tacos?
All you need for this recipe is a 1lb. salmon fillet. Just dice it up into bite sized pieces and it will easily feed 4. If you have more people eating just double (or triple) the recipe. Easy as that.

How to make salmon in the air fryer:
There are a couple of ways to make salmon in the air fryer. You can:
- Dice the salmon into cubes, toss in seasoning and a bit of oil and cook for about 10 minutes at 400F until the edges are crispy and the middles are cooked through to at least 145F internally. This is what we’ll do for this recipe and it’s the fastest way.
- You can also leave a salmon fillet whole if it’s small enough to fit in your air fryer, drizzle with seasoning and a bit of oil and cook it for about 15 minutes at 400F until crispy and the middle is cooked through to at least 145F internally. I’ve even done this from frozen, you’ll just need to cook it a bit longer.
But, cutting bite sized chunks of salmon is the easiest way to get very crispy pieces of salmon for salmon tacos and it’s much faster than using the oven.

What’s in the super simple salmon tacos recipe?
For the salmon you’ll need:
- Salmon
- Olive or avocado oil
- Chili powder
- Cumin
- Garlic powder
- Salt
- Pepper
For the sauce you need:
- Greek yogurt (I like full fat)
- Jarred jalapeños
For the mango salsa (you can also use store bought):
- Mango
- Red onion
- Tomatoes (I like cherry tomatoes)
- Jalapeños
- Lime

Prep and storage tips:
If you’re prepping this for a weeknight, feel free to make the sauce and salsa a day or two ahead of time. These will keep in the fridge for a few days in airtight containers.
The salmon is best made fresh but if you have leftovers (and you probably won’t, lol) you can reheat the salmon bites the next day. But it’s really best fresh.
