Looking for a margarita without the booze? Check out this blackberry mockarita mocktail! It’s made with fresh lime, blackberries, agave, and club soda!

This one goes out to everyone who’s not drinking right now and is sick of looking at la croix and club soda. You need this mockarita in your life! Whether you’re not a fan of booze, prego (like me), or you just don’t feel like drinking (that’s a-okay!) you can still feel special with this mocktail.
Let me paint you a picture…
It’s Friday night. Finally. My hubby Jared comes home, we chat, get dinner going and sit down to a meal. Afterward, he gets out the ingredients to fix himself a cocktail. Normally, I’d partake in the fun, but for the next 4.5 months (wahoo almost halfway there) I’m sitting on the sidelines in the cocktail game.

I open the fridge and there are the usual suspects. Water, milk, la croix and some old beef broth that who knows how long it’s been there. YUM, totally comparable to a delicious cocktail, right?! I hope you’re sensing my sarcasm here.

I trudge over to the couch, defeated with one of the above (just not the beef broth) and for a second, I think about knocking that delicious cocktail out of Jared’s hand. Kidding. Maybe.
The solution to all of this is a really great (but super fast & easy) mocktail.

How do you make a mockarita or a margarita without alcohol?
This is actually really easy. Fresh ingredients are the best way to go. The biggest problem with margarita mixes from the store is that they’re very sweet because they’re pre-mixed to combat the flavor of alcohol, which requires sugar.

When you’re not using booze, you need a little less sugar. I use fresh squeezed lime juice and I muddle fresh blackberries with the juice. I add some agave (or honey, but agave is better) and then top it off with club soda or sparkling water! Voila!
If you do want this to be an alcoholic drink, just add 2 oz. of tequila or vodka!

Blackberry Mockarita | Virgin Blackberry Margarita Mocktail
Looking for a margarita without the booze? Check out this blackberry mockarita mocktail! It’s made with fresh lime, blackberries, agave, and club soda!
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Total Time: 5 minutes
- Yield: 1 drink 1x
- Category: Mocktail
Ingredients
- 3 oz. fresh-squeezed lime juice (juice from 2–4 limes)
- 4 blackberries
- 1 Tbsp agave or honey, or to taste (agave works best)*
- 4 oz. club soda or sparkling water
- crushed ice
Instructions
- Muddle the lime juice and the blackberries together until the blackberries are well broken down.
- Add the agave or honey and mix together well. Then, add about a handful of ice and continue mixing for about 15 seconds.
- Pour the cocktail into a glass and top it off with club soda or sparkling water. Cheers!
Notes
- This results in a tart drink, I don’t like super sweet cocktails. If you prefer something sweeter, just taste and add more agave or honey until the desired sweetness is reached.
- To make this an alcoholic beverage, add 2 oz. of tequila or vodka.
- I don’t strain out the blackberry seeds (I love them), but you can. Up to you!
