This super simple Rosé Spritzer is the perfect refreshing wine cocktail to sip on when you want something that’s both light and flavorful.
As soon as the winter starts to thaw out and the warm weather comes through, I start dreaming of rosé. I’m a red wine girl, but this rosé spritzer cocktail is one of my favorites to whip up on a hot day when I’m sitting on the patio or by the pool.
I feel like rosé has really had time to shine the past few years. Whether you like wine that’s sweeter or on the dry side (me me!)…you can really find something that you like. Plus, who can argue with having a drink that’s pink? How fun is that?
The problem I run into with rosé is that I like it. A lot. Of course, I always promote drinking responsibly, but every once in a while one glass can turn into 3-4 and that can bring about a nasty headache the next day. It’s all about hydration, folks!
Enter the wine spritzer. Wine spritzers are a great way to serve your beloved wine, but tone down the alcohol content with something that’s equally fun and refreshing.

What’s in a wine spritzer
Simple wine spritzers are traditionally just wine (usually a white variety like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Gris) and club soda. Usually, 3 parts wine to 1 part soda is the standard.
Many times, ice or fruit is also served in the glass to keep it cold and add some flavor.
How do you make it with rosé?
I make rosé wine spritzers the same way as above. By combining rosé (I like a dry variety, but you can use any kind) with club soda or seltzer. I would suggest using a more economically friendly bottle with this recipe, say $20 and under. For great wine, you’ll want to enjoy that as is.
However, it took me a few tries to create a drink that didn’t taste like diluted rosé.

Tips for making your rosé spritzer taste more flavorful than watered down wine
- Make berry ice cubes! – I like to place berries in a few ice cube tray cavities and fill them with fresh orange juice. After a few hours in the freezer, you’ll have flavorful ice cubes to add to your drink (this would be great in a variety of cocktails!)
- Add a liqueur, like Elderberry Liqueur – now this does add a bit more alcohol so it’s optional, but adding a splash of flavored liqueur vamps up the pizzaz. I’m very partial to elderflower so I use that!
- Muddle in raspberries – raspberries add both color and flavor to the drink. Muddle some in with the wine and liqueur (if using). SO fun!
- Shake shake shake – this cocktail is best served very very cold. I like to shake it in a cocktail shaker or jar with a lid for 15-30 seconds before straining and pouring it into a glass
- Choose a glass with a stem – stemmed white wine or stemmed rose wine glasses work best. Stemmed wine glasses are designed to be held by the bottom of the stem so your hand doesn’t warm the bowl of the glass and cocktail. (it’s also proper etiquette, too!)
- Add a citrus wheel – a fresh orange or lemon slice will go a long way here! Let it brighten up your drink and palate!

Rosé Spritzer Cocktail | With Elderflower & Raspberries
This super simple Rosé Spritzer is the perfect refreshing wine cocktail to sip on when you want something that’s both light and flavorful.
- Yield: 1 drink 1x
Ingredients
- 6 oz. rosé wine (I like a very dry variety)
- 1/2–1 oz. elderflower liqueur (optional)
- 5–6 fresh or frozen raspberries
- ice cubes
- 2–3 oz. seltzer or club soda
- orange slice, for serving
For the optional berry ice cubes:
- fresh orange juice (about 1/2 cup or so)
- berries
- ice cube tray
Instructions
- If you want to make some fun berry ice cubes for serving, drop a few berries into an ice cube tray. Fill the cavities with fresh orange juice (no need to make a lot, 4-6 should do for about 2 drinks). Freeze until frozen, about 3-4 hours.
- To make the cocktail, add the rosé, liqueur (if using), and raspberries into a cocktail shaker or jar. Muddle everything together.
- Add a few ice cubes to the cocktail shaker or jar and shake for about 30 seconds, until cold.
- If you’re using the berry ice cubes, place them into your glass with an orange slice. If you’re not using them, a few regular ice cubes are fine*.
- Pour the rose cocktail mixture into the glass and top with seltzer or club. Cheers!
Notes
- While it is usually seen as a faux pas to use ice in wine, it’s fine in this spritz. I actually prefer these to be icy cold.
