Make back to school easier with my favorite quick breakfast and easy dinner recipes plus my must-have kitchen + back to school essentials. Simple, family-friendly meals and time-saving items to keep you sane!

Can we even believe the school year is already here? We are sending miss Madi to Kindergarten this year and while I am SO excited for her, I also cannot believe the time is already here. There is something about back to school season that gets me excited – think organization, schedule, routine and jumping back into quick and easy meals, but also, I want to prolong summer for as long as possible, ya feel me?
Anyways, as this is the first time I am school shopping for a kindergartener, I have to day, it is a bit overwhelming. But I am sharing my essentials of everything I grabbed for Madi to have the BEST first year at school. Items from her new backpack, to lunchbox essentials and even a few cute outfits.
Back to school also means quick and easy breakfast and dinners. Who has time to slave in the kitchen for hours in the morning and even when we are running to get the kids out the door, pick-ups, and off to sports (oh yea, did I mention we are also soccer parents this fall)! I am rounding-up my favorite high protein, easy, and quick breakfast and dinner recipes that are sure to be a hit for the kids and keep them (and you) full!

BACK TO SCHOOL ESSENTIALS
We are all learning together here, and it can be so overwhelming. But, if I’ve learned anything, it’s that having the right staples on hand makes a world of difference. Here’s what I grabbed to help make this transition easier on all of us:
Yes, she will be hopping on the bus at 8AM and will be gone ALL DAY! Excuse me while I emotionally process this entire situation and the last 5 years of my life! ANWAYS, it’s happening whether I am ready or not so here are all the items I grabbed for her to have the best year at Kindergarten.
I want to make sure she has filling school lunches packed each day that will keep her full. Here are a few lunch ideas I have BUT I am open to suggestions:
- Peanut butter & jelly sandwiches (use sun butter if your kiddo is going a nut free school)
- Cheese quesadilla’s with salsa and guacamole
- Greek yogurt parfaits (with fresh fruit and granola)
- Apples, berries
- A variety of fresh produce (carrots, bell pepper strips, cucumbers, etc)
- Lunch meat & cheese roll-ups
Honestly, keeping it simple is the name of the game. I am hoping I get into a routine with it and we can start making lunch on a rotation!
